Let's Be Concerned About Americans Losing Good Jobs

Too much is being said about immigrants losing their jobs and saying that they are doing jobs that Americans do not want. Where were the unions when the meatpackers threatened to close plants unless workers agreed to reduce wages. Where is the Bush government and Congress to apply job safety following OSHA guidelines?

Wages in 1960 that were today's equivalent of $20 or more – near those of the auto and steel industries – have dropped to $8 to $12 an hour in many plants, experts say.

ICE captured many identity theft illegal alien individuals working at Swift meatpacking plants in several states and the bleeding hearts are all crying about them.

Where were the bleeding hearts when Americans were tortured figuratively to reduce their wages and standard of living?

There are only 4 major meatpackers in America providing 80% of all meat and poultry. Basically they have the same mode of operations. They exploited Anerican workers by severely cutting long standing levels of wages and benefits. And the large meatpackers saw they could exploit on a bigger scale illegal aliens who would work for even less money and they would complain even less in fear of being fired or deported.

The Bush Administration reduced OSHA inspections to a severe degree and also allowed injury reporting in the meatpacking industry to not reflect actual injury counts.

The labor unions were ineffective in protecting the jobs of American citizens and their previous level of wages and benefits. Now they pretend to accomplish their obligations by supporting illegal aliens.

America has to see the truth. Pay Americans decent wages and benefits and give them safety on the job and the business will be the successful. The industry would have similar labor costs so they would be able to compete.

Some people call illegal aliens, visitors, but I think they should be called terrorists because they have upended millions of American citizens jobs by working cheaper. It was unfair for all of the presidents since Reagan not to enforce the borders and allow so many tens of millions to invade our country. And that does not even included the tens of thousands of drug dealers, other criminals, and the seriously ill like the TB carriers.

To top everything, big business and President Bush and his predecessors force the American middle class to pay the social costs of these terrorists by educating their children and paying their health costs among other things, when most states and towns are suffering from high taxes already.
