The Rutgers female basketball team and their coach, Rutgers Coach C. Vivian Stringer, have set a pretty high standard in public complaining about TV and Radio star, Don Imus, who made unflattering comments about the team. Imus was suspended from both his radio show and TV simulcast and lost many sponsors. Continuing to stir up the media, the Rutgers team and coach and others caused the cancellation of Imus’s cable TV broadcast and further puts his radio show into cancellation jeopardy.

Vivian Stringer said her players ”are the best this nation has to offer, and we are so very fortunate to have them at Rutgers University. They are young ladies of class, distinction. They are articulate, they are gifted. They are God’s representatives in every sense of the word.”
She said it’s not about the players ”as black or nappy-headed. It’s about us as a people. When there is not equality for all, or when there has been denied equality for one, there has been denied equality for all.”
She further said: ”While they worked hard in the classroom and accomplished so much and used their gifts and talents, you know, to bring the smiles and the pride within this state in so many people, we had to experience racist and sexist remarks that are deplorable, despicable, and abominable and unconscionable. It hurts me.”
We now know that Rutger’s coach Stringer and her team set themselves up as perfect human beings and nothing else but sainthood for them will ever be enough. I think it would be embarrassing to hear the coach or any team member during a bad call from a referee in a game. It would be interesting to have their friends and relatives interviewed to discuss how human they are.
The team is scheduled to be interviewed on the Ophrah Winfrey show today and hopefully they will show some decency to turn down the volume. Don Imus said he was sorry and he paid a big price when he was suspended and then cancelled from TV. It is too much for them to seek to destroy his career altogether.
By the way, we now expect to see Barak Obama walk on water and we already know that Jesus will reward Reverend Al Sharpton for being the most perfect living human being in the universe.
I’ve been called worse and they all have too. The coach and the team never watch or listen to the Don Imus show. I am sure Obama and Sharpton live for the Imus show also. I am sure they do not really care what he says or does.
We all know that Imus was trying to be funny. That kind of language is popular and even worse ghetto language has been written and said on TV and radio recently by others. A black comic on TV recently greeted the audience by calling them all ho’s and received laughs and raised hands from most. I think they are called gansta rappers who talk about killing police and selling and using drugs. All of the women they talk about are ho’s and everybody is a hustler. Major TV and radio franchises broadcast this filth and major film studios and recording companies make it available for sale. It has also been known that many of these entertainers carry weapons and kill each other and sometimes innocent parties.
If you are going to make a federal case about something, make it a good one and not about a sole middle-aged white guy just trying to be controversial and funny. Why not go against the big business and the major “entertainers” making money off of this stuff. They are the real dangers to the African-American community. Going further against Don Imus is nothing else but a cheap hustle.
