Tom Keane Jr? Are You Kidding Me?

Why the Republicans selected Tom Keane Jr to run for the Senate in New Jersey is beyond me. I guess they thought the lesson when he lost would be valuable to him down the road.

Tom Keane Jr is the son of famous Tom Keane Sr who was Governor of New Jersey, President of Drew University, and leader of the 9/11 Commission. Tom Keane Jr spent the first 30 years of his life as a student and his only claim to fame is a position in the New Jersey state legislature, a part time job. The Keane family is very wealthy from many generations of Keane's that farmed, and started the Elizabethtown Water Company and the Elizabethtown Gas Company, among other ventures. The Keane ancestors have a museum on the Keane University campus in New Jersey. Anyway, one would think that Tom Keane Sr would be selected by the Republican Party for the Senate position because he is very qualified and Junior is a joke as far as qualifications matter. I think Junior Keane is an idiot if he thinks he is experienced enough to do the job. I don't think New Jersey wants a boob in office representing them.

Why do all these rich kids think they have to go into public service like their fathers and start pretty much at the top? What is next for Junior Keane, Presidential nomination before he is 40?

Maybe they think he can survive the Senate contest because of the halo effect he may have from his father. Doesn't this sound too much like Junior and Senior George Bush and one would think the nation has learned already from that mistake by the voters.

Additionally Junior Keane is very divisive. The vast majority of his TV ads is not about the issues but slanders and smears about Bob Menendez, the Democratic opponent in the Senate race. Junior Keane sunk to the lows of President Bush by going the below the belt in name calling and other innuendo. America has learned about this type of foul propaganda and will not stand for it anymore. I guess Keane is a good boy and is doing what the Washington Republican pollsters and his father is telling him to do during the campaign.

America's founding fathers believed in separation of power between the executive, legislature, and the court. America has suffered with all three under the Republicans for too many years. It is time to guarantee separation of power by not electing any Republicans this time. If we were startled with the first six years of Republican rule without any oversite, just think how much worse everything will be with 2 more years of no oversite if the Republicans retained control of the House and Senate.

Bob Menendez is the man to vote for in New Jersey for Senate. I think he will continue to do an excellent job.
