Why Cant They Keep a Secret in the White House?

Why Cant They Keep a Secret in the White House?

Read about the 23 Bush administration officials involved by following link below:

I understood that in order to obtain high security clearance in the government you had to be investigated and approved and then you had to sign official documents that described the responsibility of handling high level secrets and the severe Federal penalties involved for violations. I would hope that people with high level security clearance would continue to be investigated.

The keyword of the day is gossip. The Bush administration gossiped among themselves about Valerie Plame and then they gossiped to reporters. I don't think that any of the reporters had high Federal security clearance at any time.

It seems that those that knew Plame was a national secret "failed" to express it to others when they gossiped about her. That is several breaches of national security to me. First, did they really need to know about her? Second, why wasn't it made clear that her activities was a national secret? Third, did 23 people at least in the White House need to know about Valerie Plame? Fourth, Why was she discussed by so many administration officials to so many members of the press, who obviously did not have security clearance? Fifth, you would think executive office high officials would have better things to do than to "gossip" among themselves and the press.

Columnist Robert Novak is a traitor who outted Flame in an article he wrote. He should at least be fired. All papers carrying his column should refuse to print it anymore. He should be investigated for violating America's security. Novak is not a stupid man, he knew what he was doing and he did it. Is America going to allow reporters to publish America's secrets in the media? Novak dishonored himself and his profession.

The only fallout is a perjury indictment of former top vice presidential aide Lewis "Scooter" Libby. The investigation was a sham, obviously many people in the White House disgraced themselves and their country.

President Bush dishonored and disgraced his office and his staff by sanctioning the "gossip" in his office and the violations of his staff talking to reporters who did not have security clearance about highly classified information. What other top secret items is the White House administrators gossiping and chitchatting with others further violating Federal Secrets code?

In some countries, traitors would quickly be brought to trial and shot. This behavior is condoned by President Bush and is unacceptable to everyone else.

What do you think? Does something smell fishy in the White House?
