Before you get scared, most of the products were made for the China, not American market. And the Chinese government swears that some of the dry milk product was not contaminated.

"The recalls have forced food companies to test their own products for signs of contamination, rather than rely on food safety checks from local authorities, and more carefully assess their suppliers. Most multinational food companies buy ingredients locally.

When the melamine scandal broke earlier this month, companies assumed their products were free of the chemical because the dairies from which they bought liquid milk had been cleared by the Chinese government. Subsequent tests by companies had found melamine in their products, nonetheless."

We all know that big business likes to use cheaper labor such as the Chinese labor market and export their products around the world eventually to other countries including America. A lot of ingredients to our food supply and prepared products are being exported from China to America. America has already faced a melamine problem with Chinese made pet food that made many animals sick and even killed a few. And we even had a recent scare with Mexican peppers where at least 1,000 Americans became sick.

Congress must force importers to label country of origin on ingredients of any prepare foods for humans or animals. Congress must enable adequate American federal laws, staffing, and enforcement to protect the American public and animals from contaminated food products.

The only other solution would be to recall all known contaminated products and ban the merchandise from our American shores.

I am suspect about Unilever Lipton, Heinz, Cadbury, Nestle, Mars M&M's and Snickers that Use Chinese Dry Milk Products even if they do not reach American consumers. They all have a black eye.

If they manufacture their products in America with American workers, and obtain most of their ingredients locally within the United States, and thoroughly inspect ingredients that they have to import they should advertise it to inform the public that their products are safe.

Right now I am sure I do not want to purchase or eat any Unilever Lipton, Heinz, Cadbury, Nestle, Mars M&M's and Snickers made in China or use ingredients imported from China for fear of getting sick.
