George Carlin Knew: Corporate America. ("It's a big club, and you ain't in it," he said.

COMMENT

Most people working for corporations are not those that he was talking about. Most people are not even union workers anymore but just plain rank and file struggling to support their families and pay their bills. These are the people that have social security withdrawn from every one of their paychecks through each year. He was talking about the big owners and executives of corporate America. These are the individuals that make so much money that the maximum amount needed for their social security is withdrawn from their first paycheck each year.

These are the silver or gold spooners that have no worries to pay for their needs like health care, energy, educating their children, or even putting food on the table. These people do not need scholarships for their children to attend college. Their kids do not have to sign up for the military to obtain GI Benefits to attend college, because they already have the money for it.

Congress and the President all leaders of Corporate America, murdered or maimed for life tens of thousands of young Americans, destroyed millions of jobs for Americans by fostering overseas outsourcing and enabling hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens to enter the country, and supporting H1B and other temporary worker visas when they are not necessary. They looked the other other way and have not solved the Mexican border problem and have not prosecuted the employers of illegal aliens. They enabled the contamination of America's people and animal food and poisoned our children with contaminated toys. Food and energy costs have gotten out of control and are poised to rise higher but they do nothing!

The other "corporate America" that Carlin was talking about are the executives and major owners that for the most part have not kept their word on pensions and retirement benefits. Most retirees that were promised pensions do not have any or if they are lucky to get something it is of reduced value from what was promised. Corporate America is not only fleeing America and American jobs but importing aliens into America to replace Americans on the job. They have successfully been able to reduce wages and benefits for Americans lucky to have jobs, or at least have the jobs flat. The purchasing power of working Americans today is less than the purchasing power of the 1960's. And the support blanket for Americans in hardship is less than that of the 1960's. College tuition was affordable in the 1960's but is out of reach for most Americans today without tens of thousands of dollars of college loans for most students. Bush and Congress made it impossible or at least very difficult to enter bankruptcy and allowed even social security checks to be subjected to garnishment, even from people living below or at the poverty level.

Corporate America has thousands of lobbyists and spend billions on our elected officials not only in Washington, DC but in our states and counties obtaining things to benefit themselves but usually harming rank and file ordinary people and usually making us pay for it and not benefiting from it. I help pay for health care and educating children of illegal aliens from paying taxes, but I do not benefit from it, in fact 2 local hospitals closed in my county from a lack of funds to pay for overwhelming charity care from the state putting citizens at risk. Clinics and medicaid providers are sending Americans away from non-emergency health care because the appointments are filled with illegal aliens. When they appear to do good for the rest of us they do half measure with the medicare donut forcing many Americans to scramble to receive their medication and raising federal minimum wage after almost after 10 years of no increases and not increasing it to the purchasing power of minimum wages of the 1960's (the increase should have been to at least $10.00).

Carlin knew about Corporate America and the fact that most of are not in that club and are suffering from the sadistic policies and law breaking they allow because they are in power.

Carlin was funny, but we also needed his observations about America to understand better and to diffuse the propaganda being dished out to all of us.
